Celebrating

After being promoted to Major Joey, he bought chips, dip, and non-alcohol beverages for the guys.
About the previous pictures-the first one is of Joey receiving the Bronze Star Medal. A third star General of the Marines did the ceremony.
The second picture is his company back at Fort
Rucker. It is his change of command ceremony. He was leaving as Company Commander for Iraq.
Many of his soldiers were at the airport at 6:00AM on a Saturday to see him off. It was so moving to see the camaraderie between these people. The military is one big family-looking out for each other. God Bless the U.S.A.

Being Baptized

Joey, and Steph are coming to my house this Saturday, then on Sunday I will be baptized in my wonderful church. They both wanted to be here to be with me, and that means so much.
I have the best kids in the world. I know all Moms say that but it is true.
Thanks Joey and Steph for being so wonderful.
If anything positive came out of Wally's death it would be that it brought me closer to God, and my church. I am missing Wally terribly-this being the second round of holidays without his physical presence. Wally is in my heart and soul and will be forever. I miss you baby.

As of last night, Sunday, about 11:00 Eastern time, Major Joey landed safe and sound at Fort Benning. He will be in debriefing, and out processing today. Joe and Steph, and Lieben plan to head back to Dothan late this afternoon.
Will write more once he is home.
Thank you all for your prayers.

Sarasota Visit

Besides having a wonderful Thanksgiving with Stephanie's Mom and family, there was also the Baptism of Steph's niece, 4 year old Juliana. She is without a doubt one of the sweetest little girls, and oh so smart.
The picture on the left is Juliana and the right is the two Godparents, Stephanie, and Michael.
There was a lovely reception afterward.

We found out last night that my son Joey will be flying out of Iraq within the next couple of days, and more and likely will be home by this Saturday, December 6th. I am asking my friends to pray that he gets home safely. We are all looking forward to his homecoming and a Christmas with him.
